Heat and strong sun burn through chlorine faster, while dust and leaves in the compounds put extra load on the filter. With more swimming in summer, water quality can slip within days if nobody is watching it.
What to check every week
These are general guideline ranges; the technician sets exact values for your pool type and sanitising system.
- Free chlorine: a common range is 1 to 3 ppm
- pH: a common range is 7.2 to 7.6
- Empty the skimmer and pump baskets
- Vacuum the floor, brush the walls and waterline
- Check filter pressure and backwash when needed
- Top up the water level after evaporation
